Inference - The interview and beyond

The use of strong inferences can have dramatic consequences. Sometimes confused and often misused the word inference can leave many unsure of what it is and how to apply it. By deriving logical conclusions from premises know to be true -inferences can make interviews understandable and take "I don't know to "I know!" With many daily applications inference becomes a powerful tool to both ask and answer those tough interview questions.

How often have we climbed the ladder of inference without getting all the important information before coming to a conclusion? Poorly drawn inferences end up looking like and behaving like assumptions! Asking strong questions and accurately gathering all facts becomes important to build accurate inferences. Looking at the "why" behind the questions will help workshop participants draw strong inferences and enable both interviewers and interviewees to be able to immediately apply the techniques to conduct more effective interviews.

Some classic interview questions like "tell me about yourself" and "why do you want to work for my company" will be explored. Some interesting variations to some common questions and answers will make this workshop/lecture informative and stimulating. Participants will leave with a new appreciation for how strong inferences can shape understanding

Through a series of examples and entertaining stories David leads the participants through the interview process from a common sense perspective and will engage listeners to ask "What else could follow?"
