Dear David

Dear David,

In my time with you -I have learned a lot; however what stands out to me is remaining consistent, creating value, and growing. I learned to walk the talk, and you also model that for us in class. I thought about resilience often when you spoke, I learned that to be able to overcome what is in the past I must see adversity as something I can learn from. I learned that independence and self-reliance are important for self-esteem (productivity). That I have all the tools to achieve whatever I want, and the only thing that can stop me is “me”. You taught me to take advantage of disadvantage, to break habits, be kind to myself, and be a “hungry dog”; to be hungry not just for work, but also for life.

Your love of life, and passion for the use of every moment to its full potential, is amazing to see. It has been a privilege being in this class, and to listen to you sincerely engage with each and every one of us. You have also motivated us, and challenged us to think critically about our values, and the world around us.

Thank you for giving us the tools to be our own fairy godmother,

G
